• How do I get to Uruguay and Which Airport should I land?

The Uruguay duck and dove hunting trip has some flexibilty on arrival - departure cities.

The arrival city for the direct flight from Miami (MIA) to Montevideo (MVD) is Montevideo, Uruguay. This is a direct flight offered by American Airlines that departs out of Miami at 11 PM.

For those that would like to spend some time in Buenos Aires, Argentina - a quick boat ride from Buenos Aires to Colonia, Uruguay (50 minute ride) is the best way.


• What is the rate for a Duck Hunting - Dove Hunting Trip? And what are the fees included/not included?
  

Rates vary from $699 for duck hunting - $475 for dove hunting. These rates are per day and include guided hunting, lodging, meals, beverages, tips, guns. The fees not included in the daily rate:


• Flights to/from Montevideo (MVD) or Buenos Aires (EZE)
  
• Ground Transfer - pickup from the Uruguay airport or boat dock - transfer to the Uruguay Lodge.
• Hunting License
• Any travel - lodging within Buenos Aires, Argentina

• What is the Hunting Seasons for Ducks and Doves?

Duck Hunting Season - Uruguay: May 1st to September 10th
Dove Hunting Season - Uruguay: All Year
Perdiz Hunting Season - Uruguay: May 1st to July 31st


• What is the Lodge Like? Does the Dove Hunting and Duck Hunting take place in One or Two Lodges? How do I get to each Hunting Lodge?

The duck and dove hunting combination hunt takes place out of 2 lodges.

The duck hunting is best in the rice fields and farms that are located in the eastern part of Uruguay. The doves and their millions of roosts are found in the western part of Uruguay. Some outfitters will offer the duck - dove hunting out of the same lodge; however, for the true waterfowl hunter, you will want to travel to the duck hunting fields and thousands of rice farms where the majority of ducks are located throughout the season.

The drive time is about 4.5 hours from the Dove hunting lodge to the Duck Hunting Lodge. You can choose to duck hunt first or dove hunt first - up to you and your group. If Montevideo is your arrival/departure city - the drive time will be as follows:

FORTIN DUCK HUNTING LODGE - 3.5 hours to MVD
ELENA DOVE HUNTING LODGE - 1.5 hours to MVD

The Ground Transfer fee that is included on your FINAL invoice (paid BEFORE you get to Uruguay) takes care of all the transfers within Uruguay - pick up at the aiport - trip to the Duck Hunting Lodge - transfer to the Dove Hunting Lodge - and return to the airport.

There is no limit for dove hunting in Uruguay. One can travel to Uruguay any month and enjoy the unlimited high volume of doves.

Duck hunting has liberal limits and Los Gauchos offers waterfowl hunters 4 boxes of shells for the AM hunt and 3 boxes of shells for the PM hunt. We keep the duck hunting consistent as well as the budgets for your shell bill.

For those adding an afternoon or 2 of Upland hunting - Uruguay limits each hunter to 10 Perdiz per day.
