Colonia, Uruguay

Colonia is more than a tourist destination, when you combine the cobblestone streets on the main avenue ("rambla"), the restaurants, the beach scene and the outstanding dove fields. Really hard to describe without experiencing Colonia yourself. Like no other place in the world, at sunset you can see the skyline of Buenos Aires, the busy city of Argentina but this peaceful historic landmark town seems a million miles away.

What is wonderful about Colonia, is the beaches, but no beach crowds, the various restaurants and South American and European delicacies, but no crowds or lines. Dove hunting pressure is light, as many still dove hunt in Cordoba and for good reason. Cordoba is the world's top dove hunting location and the several outfitters and operations give dove hunters several options to experience Cordoba dove hunting. But, Los Gauchos likes to stand out from the crowd. Colonia provides the same birds, same volumes, and the outstanding equipment that Los Gauchos provides for its wingshooting destinations.
