Uruguay Travel Tips
Flight Information for Uruguay

Los Gauchos is happy to answer any questions you have about travel to Uruguay. We also have lots of information and experience in Argentina, so please read on and ask us.

Montevideo: capital of Uruguay - city where the international airport is located. Montevideo is the largest city in Uruguay with just over 2 million people. Known as a business center and port, there are lots of good restaurants, markets and the Rambla Avenue that stretches along the shoreline is nice.

American Airlines is the only carrier that flies direct into Montevideo from Miami, Florida. All flights arriving in Argentina or Uruguay are overnight flights. The American Airline flight departs at 11 PM in the evening and arrives the next morning at 9 AM.

For those who do not take advantage of the direct flight to Montevideo, you will make a transfer in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Most of the airline carriers have a flight that lands at the Buenos Aires airport and then you will want to catch the connecting flight (American, Aerolineas, Pluna) that departs out of EZE-Buenos Aires International Airport. Otherwise you will have to fight traffic and change airports in Buenos Aires. A hectic way to start your Uruguay hunting trip!
